Hussain Ali Sajwani, born in Dubai in 1956, is a UAE national and Chairman and Founder of Damac Holding,[1] a multi-billion dollar conglomerate based in Dubai. Mr. Sajwani also holds Chairmanship in several other companies such as Al Ahlia Insurance, Al Amanah Building Materials and Al Jazeera Services.
Being evaluated at over $2.5 Billion,[2] by the Arabian Business Richest Arabs list, he is among the richest UAE nationals. Sajwani is also amongst the most influential UAE nationals as he was ranked among the 100 most influential people in the Arab world.[3]
Unlike most UAE based Real Estate Development companies, Damac Properties, the development arm of Damac Holding, survived the recession that Dubai faced in 2008 and has come out strong as the largest and most stable private property developer in the Middle East.[4]
Hussain Sajwani has businesses in many different countries. His companies property development arm, Damac Properties, has projects spanning from Lebanon to China and is currently one of the largest development companies in Egypt .[1] Sajwani also owns an investment company, Damac Investments, as well as one of the largest catering companies in the middle east, Damac Catering Services.
Damac Properties recently launched "DAMAC TOWER" in Beirut, Lebanon. The tower is in partnership with Versace, worlds leading fashion designer, and among the first of many future planned projects with Versace. Damac is the first property developer based in Dubai to launch a project in over 20 months, proving again that it is the leading private property developer in the Middle East.
